Scillonian Logo
Isles of Scilly Steamship Company Ltd was formed on 26th March 1920 and the first Scillonian began regular trips on Thursday 2nd February 1926.

Since then the company has continually operated the shipping service which is a life line for the Isles of Scilly operating not only Scillonian III passenger ferry but the Gry Maritha (pictured above) freight vessel between Penzance and the islands and inter-islands services operated by the Lyonesse Lady (pictured left), and more recently the Swift Lady and Island Lady.

Skybus Logo
In 1984 Skybus was formed and began scheduled commercial passenger flights in April 1987 to fly to the Isles of Scilly. Skybus operates regular scheduled flights from Land’s End, Newquay, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton, and from March 2008 from Newquay Airport to Cardiff (Wales) and St. Brieuc (France). The airport at Land’s End not only hosts Skybus but through Westward Airways offers the opportunity to learn to fly.

Land's End Airfield is owned and run by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group. There is a flying school at Lands End using our range of smaller single engine planes, with a dedicated staff of instructors and examiners. Westward Airways Logo
Westward Airways also operate scenic flights around the Cornish Coast all year round and there are a whole range of commercial flying activates such as Banner Towing (if you want to celebrate your wedding anniversary, proposal, birthday or whatever). Aerial photographs and charter work can also be arranged based at Land’s End.
