Transporting Gigs to the Islands

Gigs are transported by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company from Penzance to St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly on either the Gry Maritha or Scillonian III return.

Gigs are transported at the cost of £90.00 per boat. This is to cover administration, management and transport to Holgates Green, provided that 15 people per gig support the Steamship Group by travelling with us on Skybus or Scillonain III.

Please be aware that the Steamship Company are no longer able to insure the gigs whilst in transit. The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company recommends that all Gig Clubs ensure that each boat has adequate insurance cover. All gigs will be carried at ‘Sole Owners Risk’.

For gig clubs that wish to travel by alternative means of transport the charge will be £290.00 +VAT for each gig carried.

For safety reasons gigs must only contain paddles, seats, pins etc. for transportation.
