All are welcome on Saturday 11th February, the BWPA and Land’s End Flying School will be running a ‘Learn to Fly’ seminar. We will have the two national winners of the BWPA competition take their flying lessons. The formal seminar will start at 1400 and finish at 1700. PREVIOUS EVENTS
Xmas 2005 Mince Pie Meet
All those who attended hailed this a resounding success. As well as a chance to meet the staff and other members, there was an exhibition of paintings by a local artist and a display of photographs taken by Alexis and Pete. The raffle and aircraft recognition competition, raised a good amount for charity. Andrew Evans won the quiz and Steve Tremaine the raffle. They each received headsets as their prize. Murray Hodgson won second prize in the raffle. Steve is particularly pleased as the headset he normally uses has the unfortunate habit of garbling his transmission. Apparently making St Ives Bay sound like he had said Penzance Bay, when asked for his location ! As it is often foggy wherever Steve is, this could have had unfortunate ramifications. Andrew Evans easily came top in the quiz, although he did fail to correctly identify Mark’s rendition of a Welsh Cob,which is the type of horse owned by our very own Christine. Strangely, considering Marks obvious artistic talent no one seemed able to identify this tie breaker correctly.
TUITION AND STUDENTS
Following our recent successful session of evening ground tuition it has been decided that another course will commence soon at a date to be decided.
All members are welcome and the price of £16 per person per session also includes tea / coffee and biscuits.
If you are interested in enrolling, please contact the Flying School.
First Solo
First Solo on January 11th for Dan Foster of Skybus.
CFI Mark Hillier is on the look out for more instructors and a scenic pilot for the new season.
If you are looking for that perfect valentines day gift, the Scenic flights and Trial flying lessons are up and running.
All are welcome to contact the Flying School to put forward ideas for new events in the 2006 season.
