HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008
We wish all our members and friends a great New Year, and look forward to seeing you all in 2008. We had a successful flying year in 2007 despite long periods of inclement weather in the late spring/ early summer. One of the final achievements of the year was Marcus Kneale completing his first solo, pictured below with Steve Burrough, congratulations Marcus!
The open day on the 16th December was very successful with both members and guests enjoying the festivities and the visit of 771 squadron. The raffle raised £30 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance, prize winners included, Pete Channon, Tony Shipton and Christine Green.

STAFF CHANGES
As some of you know Steve Burrough has left us to further his career with Atlantic Airlines, flying a Lockheed Electra. Steve proved to be an extremely able and popular instructor, and we all wish him well in his new job. He is pictured below receiving his leaving gifts from Emily and Alan McLoughlin.
Further congratulations to Brett Gibson and Phil Hughes who have moved over to SkyBus as First Officers on the Twin Otter. A sad farewell also to Andy Howard (ATC) who is moving to Plymouth to gain his Approach Rating.

2008 PRICES
The membership fees for 2008 have remained the same as last year at £82, and are now due.
Either pop into the club or telephone through with your details to renew your membership and enjoy continued flying in 2008. There have inevitably been some price increases, mainly due to increased fuel costs. The most relevant prices are listed right, the full price list is available here.

WINTER FLYING TIPS
Below is a sample of winter flying advice from the CAA safety leaflet No 3B.
More comprehensive information is included in this leaflet, which can be obtained, with others in the series,
direct from the CAA.

AND FINALLY...
Steve Davies is actively looking at ways to increase the range of flying instruction we cater for. His ideas so far are IMC, spin and stall recovery, and aerobatic courses. Please let us know if you would be seriously interested in this form of additional training, so that Steve can put a programme together. Meanwhile we look forward to seeing you all for lots of great flying in 2008!
