IAN KELLY
We are delighted to report on the success story of one of our former PPL students, Ian Kelly.
He started flying at Lands End in September 1999 and soon gained his PPL with us. After gaining his PPL he bought a share in the UX group and continued to build
his hours at Lands End. In early 2005 he started work on his commercial ground work and gained all exam passes in August.
He then went to the Bristol School of Flying and completed his commercial flight training and gained his ATPL in early December. In February this year he was offered a position of first officer with Easy Jet and commenced his type training onto Boeing 737's. Ian is pictured doing his “walk round” at Grenoble recently.
(Thanks to Ian’s dad Chris, for picture and information).

TEMPORARY PARKING OF AIRCRAFT
There are now seven concrete slabs, marking out the aircraft parking positions on the grass, west of the main buildings. Parking on these markings will ensure there is sufficient space for the Skybus Islanders to access the pumps etc. Please utilise the markings and do not leave aircraft parked close to the apron /otter pad.
CAFÉ HAS NEW MAN AT THE HELM
Ex ship’s cook on the Scillonian, John Pilkington, has left the sea after 30 years and is now running our café. We will now have food available 7 days a week, (no hot food on Sundays at the moment).
John’s wealth of experience with food is already proving a hit with customers and staff alike, and we’re sure the café will be one of the success stories this year.
