LANDS END AIRPORT FLIGHT CLEARANCE PROCEDURES

Lands End Airport is allowed to accept flights that are subject to Customs, Immigration or Prevention of Terrorism (Special Branch) clearance provided that the correct notification procedures are followed.

Notification must be made by sending a completed General Declaration Form to the appropriate authority, within the given time limits. You can download the form from this page.

If you are not sure if your flight to or from Lands End is subject to Customs, Immigration or Prevention of Terrorism clearance, check on the downloadable flow charts at the bottom of this page. The addresses for notification and the time constraints are shown on the charts.

PREVENTION OF TERRORISM

  1. Under the Prevention of Terrorism Act flights between mainland UK and the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland (Eire) or the Isle of Man are subject to Special Branch clearance.
  2. You must fax or email a completed general declaration form to Special Branch of the Devon and Cornwall Police, giving at least 12 hours notice. You cannot make the flight unless you have received a clearance number in return.
  3. A copy of the Special Branch clearance will be sent to Lands End ATC and we cannot accept your flight without it. We strongly advise you to give notice of such flights during office hours, Monday to Friday, to ensure that it is cleared in time.

CUSTOMS

  1. Notification must be given by faxing or emailing the General Declaration form to the National Co-ordination Unit (NCU).
  2. There are no Customs restrictions on flights between Lands End and the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland (Eire).
  3. Flights to the Channel Islands require at least 12 hours prior notice to Customs. Flights from the Channel Islands need 24 hours notice.
  4. Flights to European Union destinations require no Customs clearance. Flights from the EU need at least 4 hours notice.
  5. Flights to or from non-EU countries require 24 hours notice to Customs
