Flight Training

Land's End Flying School is the pilot training & recreational flying section. We train pilots for the Joint Airworthiness Requirements Private Pilot’s licence and NPPL (National Private Pilots Licence).

The PPL, once issued to you, allows you to fly almost any single-engine aircraft in most parts of the world. You may carry passengers and visit airfields both large and small. This licence opens the door to so many possibilities. For example:

* Fly your friends and family
* Aerobatics
* Competition
* Aircraft Ownership
* Recreational Flying
* Foreign Touring
* Business Travel
* Further Qualifications
* A Career

We train in Cessna light aircraft, each carefully maintained
field. Our instructors are fully qualified and all hold commercial pilots licences.

When learning to fly with Land’s End Flying School you benefit from uncluttered, quiet airspace and the use of the school’s own airfield. This saves you time and money.

Lessons are booked at times that suit you, seven days a week. As a member, you hire the aircraft and instructor, usually for an hour at a time. We assist you in co-ordinating your training programme depending on your progress. On taking up flight training you will need to become a member of the Land's End Flying School, ring for more details.

Enjoy flying over the Isles of Scilly.

We expect to provide the best aircraft and tuition at the most competitive prices and to make the learning process both rewarding and fun. As a qualified PPL Club member you will have the option to hire aircraft from the Club fleet.

We also train for the UK National Private Pilots Licence. It has certain advantages, but is restricted to UK airspace. The main advantage of this is that there is a less strict medical examination and you only need to complete a minimum of 32 hours instead of 45 hours.

Please feel free to talk to our instructors to discuss matters in more detail: 01736 788771.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR AN NPPL LICENCE
Introduced to encorage the popularity of leisure flying in the UK, the NPPL license allows you to fly throughout UK airspace and has the advantage of reduced minimum flying hours and a less stringent medical therefore making it financially more accessible.
* 32 hours minimum flying training

* Similar ground schooling and flight test to JAR PPL
* Approximate cost £4000
