Hopping between islands is easy

Discover the islands from the water with the St Mary’s Boatmen’s Association, a collective of ten independent boat operators working together to connect the islands.

As with many things on Scilly, the approach to scheduling is flexible and shaped by nature. Each morning, the boatmen meet to plan the day ahead, taking into account the weather, tides and demand. Head to St Mary’s Quay, where a chalkboard displays the day’s sailings, wildlife and sightseeing tours, as well as evening trips – you can’t miss it.

Tickets can be purchased in advance on St Mary’s Quay, from the Tourist Information Centre at Porthcressa Beach, and through many local hotels, guest houses and shops.

The St Mary’s Boatmen’s Association aims to run daily services throughout the main season (May to September). However, schedules may vary depending on tides, weather conditions and passenger numbers.
