Pets are welcomed onboard Scillonian III passenger ferry

Booking dogs on a sailing

Dogs must be booked in advance, you can add pets when making your booking online.

Space for dogs is limited, so please book early, to avoid disappointment.

A maximum of 2 dogs per adult are permitted to travel.

Please note:

We may have to refuse travel of any animals posing a threat to the health and safety of passengers, crew and other pets. Passengers are advised that they are solely responsible for the welfare and conduct of their pets. Passengers must stay with their pets at all times. Isles of Scilly Steamship Company Ltd and subsidiaries do not accept liability for damage or injury caused by pets whilst using its premises or modes of transport. In the event of any incident whereby a pet causes alarm or injury, this will be reported to the appropriate authorities e.g. the police. If further advice is required regarding travelling with pets, please do not hesitate to contact our travel centre or ask a member of staff.

Onboard Scillonian III

Pets are welcome on the outer passenger decks and the indoor areas but are not permitted in the main deck café, the lower deck or on the seats. Please look out for signs around the ship indicating pet restricted areas. Please ensure pets do not block exits or disabled seating and do not lie in the stairway areas. Guide dogs can access all passenger areas of the ship.

  • Passengers are solely responsible for the welfare and behaviour of their pets at all times.
  • Pets must remain with their owners throughout the journey. Dogs must be kept on a lead and securely fitted with a collar or harness at all times while on board Scillonian III, to ensure the safety of your pet, fellow passengers, and crew.
  • Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste in the bins provided onboard. Dogs must not sit on seats or obstruct aisles or emergency exits.
  • To help prevent accidents, ensure your dog is adequately exercised before arriving and boarding Scillonian III.
  • We reserve the right to refuse travel to any animal that poses a risk to the health or safety of passengers, crew, or other pets.
  • We accept no liability for injury or damage caused by pets while on our premises or vessels. Any incident involving injury or alarm caused by a pet may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Guide, hearing and assistance dogs

We welcome certified assistance and guide dogs onboard, and they are permitted in all public areas of Scillonian III, subject to the required certification.

They must wear the correct jacket and harness at all times when travelling, and are allowed to remain with their owner in the passenger areas for the duration of the sailing.

If travelling with an assistance or guide dog, please complete our mobility aid request form at least 48 hours before travel.

Emotional support animals

Emotional support animals that do not hold recognised assistance dog public access certification may travel with you but will be treated as regular pets and are not permitted in passenger areas onboard.
