Isles of Scilly

Dog friendly holidays

A visit to the Isles of Scilly is a special experience for every member of the family and your dog is no exception. With mile after mile of picturesque coastline, the Isles of Scilly is the perfect destination for the walk of a lifetime.

Bring your dog along

There’s no need to leave your dog behind, the Isles of Scilly are wonderfully dog-friendly and so are we. Dogs are welcome on board Scillonian III and on Skybus flights from Land’s End Airport and Cornwall Airport Newquay. Spaces are limited, so it’s best to book early to make sure your four-legged companion can join the adventure.

Pets on board

Travelling with your dog on Scillonian III

When travelling on the passenger ferry Scillonian III, you’ll board on foot after check-in and choose a seat for the journey. Many dogs enjoy the fresh air on the open deck, but there are also several other dog-friendly areas on board where they can relax with you during the crossing.

Flying with your dog on Skybus

Dogs can also travel with you on Skybus. Simply bring your pet on board, where they’ll be placed in our RSPCA-approved crates in the cabin. You’ll sit close by so they can see you throughout the flight. Flights take around 20 minutes from Land’s End Airport and 30 minutes from Cornwall Airport Newquay.

Explore the islands with your dog

The Isles of Scilly has walking routes galore and endless beaches to explore. Many of St Mary’s’ beaches are open to dogs year-round – including Town beach. Porthmellon, Porthcressa, and Old Town beach are closed to dogs from 1st May to 30th September, but with so many others to choose from, you’ll never be short of options. On the other four inhabited islands, you’re free to roam the beaches with your dog – just remember to keep them on a lead if you are on Tresco.
