The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, transportation provider to the Isles of Scilly, has today announced the purchase of Island Carriers, a haulage business located on St. Mary’s.
The acquisition of Island Carriers will in the future enable the Steamship Group to offer an integrated freight and baggage transfer service to islanders and its Scillonian passengers. The company will continue to deliver and maintain the same high quality service that has been provided under the Knapman’s ownership over the years.
Talking about the integration of Island Carriers into the Steamship Group, Chief Executive Officer, Rob Goldsmith said: “Our acquisition of this well respected local business complements our overall service offering on the Isles of Scilly and we look forward to welcoming the Island Carriers team into the Steamship Group.”
