Travel Advisory Notices

Customer Notice: Lyonesse Lady out of service from Monday 20th May 2019

In recent weeks we have been working hard on preparing the Gry Maritha for continued service. During this time the Lyonesse Lady has developed some technical faults which we are now looking to immediately resolve. Therefore we are planning to take the Lyonesse Lady out of service for approximately 10 days, starting on Monday 20th May. We are sorry for the short notice but the vessel must be repaired. To maintain an off-island service during this period, we have retained the services of a landing craft, named  Terramare, which has been a frequent visitor to the islands in the past. We are aiming to use swift lady for small goods on a daily basis and the landing craft as needed. Due to the Duchy of Cornwall’s operating requirements, we are unable to use the off-island quays ( with the exception of Tresco)  so we will have to land goods on a beach.  For this to happen, we will need your cooperation and support to unload good from the landing craft. St. Mary’s freight office will coordinate these visits and during this period we will do our best to maintain the off-island service. For all your freight needs and enquiries please call St Mary’s Quay: 01720 424230 or Penzance Freight Office: 01736 334249. Do keep an eye out for updates via email, our text alerts and on our twitter travel updates page @IOSTravelupdate and online at www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk/travel-updates/

Customer Notice- Mali Rose Update 7th May 2019

The Mali Rose will load in Penzance tomorrow night, Wednesday 8th May, and will depart at approximately 18:30pm. All freight will be discharged on St. Mary’s on Thursday 9th May, during the morning and will depart for Penzance approximately at 09:30am. We would like to remind you that this is the last scheduled sailing for the Mali Rose and that, Friday 10th May, scheduled sailing has been cancelled to allow for an in-depth handover from the Mali Rose, back to the Gry Maritha. With this in mind, we are accepting limited freight on the Scillonian on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May, which MUST be booked in with Penzance freight office in advance. For all your freight needs and enquiries please call St Mary’s Quay: 01720 424230 or Penzance Freight Office: 01736 334249 The Gry Maritha will resume normal service on Monday 13th May. Customer Notice- Change to the Mali Rose Timetable for Friday 10th May.

We are pleased to say that the Gry Maritha is almost ready to return to service and in order to carry out the required sea trials, to ensure she is fully operational after extensive work, we need to make changes to the current freight schedule. These changes are as follows: Friday 10th May:  The Mali Rose schedule sailing is cancelled. Monday 13th May: The Gry Maritha will resume scheduled service As a reminder, we cannot accept freight on the Scillonian when operating double sailings, with the first being on  Friday 3rd May and the second on Monday 06th May. This will also apply on all Scillonian double sailings for the remainder of the year. We are extremely sorry that we have to cancel Friday 10th May’s sailing but this needs to be done to ensure that the Gry Maritha is fully prepared as we currently have a limited number of skilled and familiar trained staff to operate both vessels at the same time.
