Scillonian III- Chilled Goods

After investigations we can confirm that the chiller onboard Scillonian III will no longer be in operation for the remaining 12 sailings. All chilled freight items will be shipped on the Gry Maritha. Gry Maritha- 16th October 2018

The Gry Maritha will be depart Penzance Harbour later than her scheduled departure due to hurricane Ophelia. We anticipate that she will leave Penzance for the Isle of Scilly in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

The weather forecast for Monday the 16th of October 2017 is indicating the likely hood of very strong to gale force winds at Land’s End, St Mary’s and Newquay, which may cause disruption to Skybus flights, the wind is expected to pick up during the morning, with the strongest wind in the afternoon. Monday 16th October 2017 – Cancelled Sailing, Scillonian III.

Due to the forecasted adverse weather conditions for Monday 16th October of violent gale force winds, the Scillonian III sailing has been cancelled. All passengers that are booked onto Mondays sailing will automatically be transferred to an additional sailing on Tuesday afternoon as follows: Departing Penzance (Albert Pier) at 14:15 (Check-In closes 13:45) Departing St Mary’s at 17:45 (Check-In closes 17:15) Passengers originally booked to travel on Monday’s sailing may change to an alternative sailing free of charge where space allows, or cancel their journey with a full refund of the fare paid. Road closures- Scillonian passengers 11/10/17

Wharf Road in Penzance will be closed at Ross Bridge from 08:15 on Wednesday 11th October. Diversions will be in place and passengers travelling on Scillonian III are advised to allow extra time to get to the quay on Wednesday morning. Docking of Gry Maritha – Scheduled maintenance, Saturday 23rd September

The Gry Maritha will enter Penzance Dry Dock for scheduled maintenance during the evening of Saturday 23rd September. At this time, we do not anticipate any changes to the vessels schedule and plan to undock on Sunday 24th September. PLANNED SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR LYONESSE LADY AND GRY MARITHA

Planned maintenance for Lyonesse Lady – Monday 9th to Saturday 22nd October Due to essential planned maintenance, the Lyonesse Lady will be out of service from Monday 9th October to Sunday 22nd October inclusive. During this time, the Off-Islands will be serviced by the Swift Lady and we will therefore only be able to carry light goods and essential perishables. We value your help in avoiding bulky freight during this time. If you were intending to ship large or heavy goods during the maintenance period we will do our best to assist you either prior to or after the Lyonesse Lady is out of service. We recommend that you call our offices as soon as possible to discuss the best options for your needs and to make a booking. RESUMED SERVICE GRY MARITHA – Wednesday 13th September 2017

The Gry Maritha departed Penzance today at the slightly later time of 14:35, however we are pleased to inform you that she will now resume her scheduled service. Cancelled Freight Sailing 11th September 2017

We regret to inform you that following the incident affecting the Mali Rose in Penzance Harbour on Saturday evening there will be no sailing today whilst our freight ship systems and processes are reviewed. We hope to carry as much freight as possible on the Scillonian III tomorrow in order to minimise any disruption to customers. Weather conditions over the coming days may also have an impact on the scheduling of operations so we will provide further updates at the earliest opportunity. The company would like to take this opportunity to thank islanders for their understanding and it is doing everything it can to resume normal services as soon as possible. Scillonian III Monday 11th September 2017

Due to the current forecast of gale force winds and very rough sea conditions on Monday 11th September, Monday’s Scillonian III sailing has been cancelled. All passengers booked to travel on Monday will be contacted to offer a transfer to a different date or the option to cancel their booking with a full refund of the fare paid. Mali Rose update 21st August 2017

The Mali Rose has come to the end of an initial series of sea trials to and from the Isles of Scilly. During the next week we will be consolidating what we have learned so far and planning our next phase of operational trials commencing the week of the 28th August 2017. In the meantime we are taking the opportunity to make some minor modifications to improve efficiency and storage.

Scillonian passengers, road disruption- 27th August 2017

There will be road closures in Penzance on 27th August for the Pirates on the Prom event with controlled vehicle access to the Quay.  To get to the Quay, please approach from the north, along Wharf Road, show your ticket to the security guard at the road closure and they will direct you through the closure.  Please note that you may have to wait to access the Quay due to volume of vehicle traffic, particularly in the evening. There will be no access along Western Promenade Road as this will be closed all day for the event. The 09:40 Flight from Newquay to Exeter and the 10:40 Exeter to Isles of Scilly flight have been cancelled due to technical issues. Road transport is being provided to Exeter passengers for onward travel to Land’s End for flights this afternoon to the Isles of Scilly.  Cancelled Sailings  Gry Maritha – Monday 29th /Tuesday 30th May 2017 We wish to advise you of the cancellation of the above sailings to enable routine regulatory surveys of the vessel. These dates were chosen as the Bank Holiday weekend is usually much quieter for freight shipments and therefore minimises any potential disruption to our customers. Travel Update- Tuesday 2nd May 2017 Re: Wednesday 3rd May Scillonian Sailing On Tuesday 2nd May the Scillonian III experienced a technical problem which we successfully managed to resolve. As a result of this issue and to conclude our checks, the Scillonian III will depart at a later time of 10:00am tomorrow morning. (Wednesday 3rd May) The Scillonian III will depart Penzance Harbour at 10am on Wednesday 3rd May arriving in St. Mary’s at  12:45. Check-in on will open: 08:45hrs Check-in on Penzance Quay will close: 09:30hrs Due to the reduced amount of time on the islands, any day trip passengers may change their booking to another date (subject to availability) or cancel their booking with a full refund. Travel Update Tuesday 2nd May 2017

Following on from our earlier communication we are pleased to say that we have successfully resolved our technical problems with the Scillonian III and we are now able to sail later this afternoon as we had hoped. The Scillonian IIII will now depart today from Penzance Harbour at approximately 14:45 and will arrive in St. Mary’s at 17:30. Today’s departure from St. Mary’s will be at a later time of 18:15 arriving into Penzance at 21:00. Check-in on St. Mary’s will open: 17:00hrs Check-in on St. Mary’s will close: 17:45hrs

This morning’s 9.15 am Scillonian III departure from Penzance to St Mary’s has been delayed until further notice due to an electrical fault. Updates will be posted on our website and on Twitter via @IOSTravelupdate as soon as we know more. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Change to sailing schedule – Monday 1st May

Monday 1st May 2017 Due to weather conditions forecast over the weekend, Monday’s early sailing from Penzance will now depart from Albert Pier. Due to tidal restrictions this means that we will be operating an amended timetable as follows: 1st  sailing Depart Penzance (Albert Pier) 07:15 Check in closes at 06:45 Depart St Mary’s 10:45 Check in closes at 10:15  2nd sailing Depart Penzance (South Pier) 14:15 Check in closes at 13:45 Depart St Mary’s 17:45 Check in closes at 17:15 All tickets previously purchased will be valid on the sailing 45 minutes later than originally scheduled. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

25th April 2017

Today's 08:45 flight from Newquay to St Mary's has been cancelled this morning due to technical issues. All passengers are being transferred to Land's End Airport for onward flights to St Mary's.
