Scillonian III update – Saturday 22nd September 2018

Due to forecast weather and sea conditions for Saturday 22nd September, the Scillonian III will now operate a revised schedule as follows: Departing Penzance at 10:30 Check-in will be open from 09:15 to 10:00. There is no change to the departure time from St Mary’s at 16:30 (Check-in will be open from 15:15 to 16:00) A day trip weather advisory has been issued for this date and it may be an uncomfortable journey. Day trip passengers are advised that this crossing is not suitable for a day trip as the journey may also take longer than normal due to forecast weather/sea conditions. Day trip passengers who have already booked can have a full refund or transfer to another day.  Please contact our Travel Centre on 01736 334220 if you have not yet been contacted. Skybus Weather Advisory, Saturday 22nd September

The weather forecast for tomorrow, Saturday 22nd of September 2018, is indicating the likelihood of low cloud and reduced visibility at St Mary’s, Land’s End and Newquay, which may cause disruption to Skybus flights. Although no flights have been cancelled at this time, any passengers booked to travel with Skybus on Saturday may transfer to a flight on a different date free of charge, where space allows. Skybus Weather Advisory, Thursday 20th September 2018

The weather forecast for tomorrow Thursday the 20th of September 2018 is indicating the likelihood of very strong and gusty winds, increasing in to the afternoon at St Mary’s,  Land’s End, and Newquay, which may cause disruption to Skybus flights. Although no flights have been cancelled at this time, any passengers booked to travel with Skybus on Thursday may transfer to a flight on a different date free of charge where space allows. Scillonian III update – revised sailing times for Thursday 20th September 2018

Due to forecast weather and tidal conditions for Thursday, the Scillonian will now depart at the following revised times: Departing Penzance at  08:00. Check-in will be open from 06:45 to 07:30. Customer Notice – Weather advisory for Scillonian, Tuesday 18th September 2018

Due to forecast weather and tidal conditions for Tuesday (18th September) morning, the Scillonian sailing from Penzance has been altered to the later time of 12:00. Check-in will be open from 10:45 to 11:30. Passengers who have booked a day trip for Tuesday 18th September 2018 may change to an alternative date free of charge or cancel with a full refund of the fare paid. Scillonian Weather Advisory for Monday 17th September 2018

Due to forecast weather and tidal conditions for Monday afternoon, the Scillonian sailing from St. Mary’s has been altered to the earlier time of 14:30. Check-in will be open from 13:15 to 14:00. Passengers who have booked a day trip for Monday 17th September may change to an alternative date, free of charge or cancel with a full refund of the fare paid. Skybus weather advisory for Tuesday 11th September 2018

The weather forecast for Tuesday 11th September is indicating a high probability of low cloud and reduced visibility at St. Mary’s, Land’s End and Newquay airports, during the afternoon which may cause disruption to Skybus flights. Although no flights have been cancelled at this time, passengers booked to travel with Skybus on Tuesday afternoon may transfer to a flight on a different date, free of charge where space allows. Passengers are advised to contact Skybus Operations on 01736 785233 to discuss their options.  

Scillonian III Double Sailing- Sunday 2nd September 2018

Scillonian III will be operating a double sailing to accommodate Skybus’ passengers due to fly on Saturday’s (1st) due to potential flight disruption. Scillonian will operate an amended scheduled on Sunday 2nd September as follows: Depart Penzance 06:30, arrive St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly, approx. 09:15 Check in closes 06:00   Depart St Mary's 10:00, arrive Penzance approx. 12:45 Check in closes 09:30   Depart Penzance 13:30, arrive St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly, approx. 16:15 Check in closes 13:00   Depart St Mary's 17:00 arrive Penzance approx. 19:45 Check in closes 16:30

Day Trip Passengers

All pre-booked Scillonian Day Trip passengers have been automatically re-booked onto the 06:30 & 17.00 departures. Passengers travelling from St Mary’s to Penzance All pre-booked Scillonian passengers departing St Mary’s have been automatically booked on to the 17:00 departure.

Passengers travelling from Penzance to St Mary’s

All pre-booked Scillonian passengers departing Penzance have been automatically booked onto the 13:30 departure. Pre-booked Scillonian passengers may transfer to an alternative sailing where space allows free of charge or cancel with a full refund of the fare paid. If any passengers leaving St Mary’s have any enquiries on Sunday, please visit Scillonian check-in on St Mary’s Quay between 08.30 and 09.30.

Please Note: Luggage Transfers for Sunday 2nd September

Luggage transfer from Island Carriers and Richard Hand will only be available for passengers sailing on the 13.30 departure from Penzance.  This will be for delivery to accommodation only. For any queries, Scillonian passengers should please call our Travel Centre on 01736 334220 and Skybus passengers should please contact Skybus Operations on 01736 785233. The weather forecast for Monday the 20th of August 2018 is indicating a high probability of low cloud and reduced visibility at Land’s End, Newquay and St Mary’s, which is likely to cause disruption to Skybus flights. Although no flights have been cancelled at this time, any passengers booked to travel with Skybus on Monday may transfer to a flight on a different date free of charge where space allows, or to the Scillonian III ferry sailing tomorrow – Sunday the 19th of August. Skybus Weather Advisory – 11th August 2018

Due to continuing poor visibility and no forecast improvement this afternoon, the remainder of today's flights have now been cancelled. Passengers who have not already been contacted can contact Skybus operations on 01736 785233 to discuss their options.

Skybus Customer Notice- Weather disruption to Skybus flights – Saturday 11th August 2018

The weather forecast for St Mary’s is poor, with low cloud and reduced visibility likely to disrupt Skybus flights for the rest of today. Skybus Operations are currently trying to contact all passengers that are due to fly from the mainland today, offering them the option to transfer to a flight on a different date free of charge and where space allows. Alternatively, you will also be offered the option to transfer to tomorrow’s Scillonian III sailing, departing Penzance Harbour at 11am. Transport provided from your Airport of departure if required. Passengers due to travel with Skybus from St Mary’s may also take the option of  a transfer to the Scillonian sailing tomorrow, departing St Mary’s at 16:30, onward transport will be provided to get passengers back to their Airport of departure or Penzance station. There is some availability on Monday’s flights. For those passengers opting to transfer to tomorrow’s sailing from the mainland, we strongly advise that you either find accommodation close to where you currently are, or, to travel down tomorrow morning either to the Scillonian III departure point or to your original Airport of departure to park your car and take the onward transport provided by Skybus due to the limited accommodation in the Penzance and Newquay areas. Whilst Skybus operations are contacting passenger, passengers can call our travel centres on 01736 785233 to discuss options and to answer any questions that you may have. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to passengers travelling on today’s flights.

Due to forecast weather and tidal conditions for Sunday morning, the Scillonian sailing from Penzance has been postponed to the later time of 11:00. Check-in will be open from 09:30 to 10:30. Any passengers who have booked a day trip for Sunday may change to an alternative date free of charge or cancel with a full refund of the fare paid. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Customer Notice – Wednesday 1st August 2018 – @ 09:25

If any passengers have excess luggage that was left on Penzance Quay yesterday, this has been put onto this morning’s Scillonian sailing; we will deliver your luggage to the St. Mary's addresses today, if a holiday address was not provided please could passengers make their way to St. Mary’s Quay to pick up their luggage.
 
For any passengers who have excess luggage for the off-islands, please can you meet the inter-island boats on the off-island quays to collect and pay for your luggage.

Scillonian III Update, Tuesday 31st July 2018

Following on from recent communication regarding the Scillonian III technical fault, we would like to advise all passengers travelling tomorrow, Wednesday 1st August 2018, to check-in as normal. We thank you for your patience.

Customer Notice- Scillonian III Cancelled Sailing – 31st July 2018

Due to a technical fault on board Scillonian III, we are sorry to advise that today’s sailing, Tuesday 31st July 2018, has been cancelled. Following a routine test on the ships emergency systems on Monday 30th July, a fault was identified in the back-up emergency batteries. Our team of electricians are doing all they can to resolve the fault to ensure that the vessel returns to service a quickly as possible. The majority of passengers booked onto today’s sailing have been transferred to Skybus and Island Helicopter services from Land’s End Airport and our travel centre representatives are currently making contact with the remainder of today’s passengers. We apologise to our passengers for the inconvenience caused on this sailing and extend our thanks to the businesses and individuals who are assisting us at this time.  Further updates will follow

Customer Notice – Scillonian III update- 31st July 2018 – @ 10:45

Following our recent communication regarding the electrical fault on-board Scillonian III, our engineers are still carrying out investigations. We hope to be in a position to provide a full update in the next hour. Once more, we apologise for the inconvenience caused on this sailing.

Customer Notice- Delayed Scillonian Sailing – Tuesday 31st July 2018 @ 09:13

Our electrical engineers are busy working on-board Scillonian to resolve the electrical fault, we will provide further updates as soon as we have further information. Our apologies for the inconvenience caused on this sailing.

Following a routine test on the ships emergency systems on Monday 30th July, where a fault was identified, and after consultation with our electrical engineers, today’s sailing will be delayed. (Tuesday 31st July 2018) Day trip passengers have been cancelled and staying passengers are currently being contacted. Further updates will follow.

Scillonian III update @ 19:00hrs, 30th July 2018

We are pleased to inform you that the Scillonian III will be departing St. Mary’s at approximately 19:30 this evening. We would like to reiterate our gratitude and thanks to our passengers for their patience and to all local businesses, organisations and individuals for their help with assisting us with passenger comfort and needs. Following today’s technical fault, tomorrow’s shipment of frozen and chilled goods has been cancelled which will impact on the Scillonian III freight schedule for 31st July 2018. Steamship Company staff will be on Penzance quay to meet inbound passengers this evening, 30th July and to offer assistance as required. Once more we apologise for the inconvenience caused on this sailing

Scillonian III Update, 30th July @ 17:25hrs

Following our latest update regarding the Scillonian III technical fault, we can inform you that our team are now on board to investigate whether the vessel can be made serviceable in time to return to Penzance later this evening. We apologise to our passengers for the inconvenience and extend our thanks to the business and individuals who are assisting with passenger’s comfort and needs whilst the investigation continues. Further updates will follow.

Scillonian III- Electrical fault, 30th July 2018

The Scillonian III has developed an electrical fault which means that until this is fixed, she is unable to sail. At this time passengers cannot board as essential services are not operating. The team is currently on route to St. Mary’s airport (at 16:15) including two electrical engineers and two members of Isles of Scilly Steamship Group’s senior management team. We are investigating whether the vessel can be made serviceable in time to return to Penzance later this evening. We are exploring contingency plans should this not be possible. We will update you on the situation every 30 minutes.

Mali Rose to welcome visitors

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group’s new freight ship, the Mali Rose, will be hosting an open morning on St Mary’s today during her visit to Scilly to enable islanders to tour the ship. Residents of Scilly are very welcome to come on board to see the work that has been done to date to refit the freight ship, and to ask questions of the ship’s crew and staff. she will be berthed alongside St Mary’s Quay tomorrow from 9am-10.30am when people are welcome to come on board.
