The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group is hosting a lunch party on board Scillonian III whilst she is berthed alongside St Mary’s Quay on the Isles of Scilly tomorrow (Wednesday 21st June) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic passenger ferry.
Following anniversary celebrations held in Penzance in May, tomorrow’s lunch party will involve staff past and present, as well as invited guests from stakeholder organisations and local businesses based on the Isles of Scilly.
A planned community event for all islanders to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Scillonian III, including a major firework display over the islands, was initially planned to take place tomorrow evening but this has now been rescheduled to the early autumn. Details and the new date will be announced soon.
