The Scillonian III passenger ferry is preparing to start her seasonal sailings to the Isles of Scilly. This summer, to offer greater choice to both visitors and local residents and to support growth of the visitor market, Isles of Scilly Travel will be offering double return sailings on Saturdays throughout the peak summer months, providing more opportunities for people to travel between Cornwall and Scilly. The double sailings will also enable day trippers to enjoy a longer stay on the islands.

Scillonian III has been undergoing her maintenance program in Penzance Dry Dock during the winter, and now the iconic passenger ferry is ready to return to her scheduled service, commencing Monday 18th March.

Stuart Reid, Acting Managing Director of the Steamship Group, said:

“A big thank you to all of our crew and staff at Penzance Dry Dock for their hard work over the winter on Scillonian III. The Scillonian looks stunning and we are looking forward to seeing her start her first scheduled sailing this year.

“We have listened to accommodation providers on the Isles of Scilly, and to our passengers. The double sailings on Saturdays during the peak tourism season will increase capacity in the islands’ transport provision at Scilly’s busiest time of year, as well as enabling day trippers to enjoy a greater amount of time exploring the islands.”

Double sailings will take place on:

  • Saturday 27th July
  • Saturday 3rd August
  • Saturday 10th August
  • Saturday 17th August
