Here at Isles of Scilly Travel, we are proud to have supported and sponsored Amelie Lishman, a local 16-year-old girl from St Mary’s, to perform with her band at the Beer and Cider Festival that was held on the islands over the Easter weekend.

Amelie released her first EP (an extended play of a musical recording) ‘Wrong Kind of Pretty’, which features six original songs, and is now making her first live performances on the Isles of Scilly, which is her home when she is not at college on the mainland.

She supported a four-piece band from London called Ice Cream Shop, at two spots on Scilly over the bank holiday weekend: Old Town Inn at St Mary’s on Saturday evening, and the New Inn at Tresco on Easter Monday.

Isles of Scilly Travel sponsored the travel of six band members, including Kirk and Reuben who supported Amelie’s performance by playing drums and the keyboard, and Ice Cream Shop themselves, so that they could take the opportunity to perform on the islands.

Speaking of the sponsorship, Amelie said: “It’s fantastic that Kirk and Reuben were available to join me at the weekend as they both play on the EP too. These support gigs are not paid gigs so we couldn’t have got them over to Scilly without the amazing support from Isles of Scilly Travel, so thank you so much for making this happen! This would not have been possible without your support.”

Amelie’s mother, Bryony Lishman, who is a yoga teacher at Adventure Scilly, added: “The Isles of Scilly Travel sponsorship for this trip has had a huge positive impact on Amelie as a performer and we’re immensely grateful.”
