B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineers (LAE) – Newquay

Skybus, part of Isles of Scilly Steamship Group is recruiting for 3 x B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineers (LAE) at our line base at Newquay Airport. This new position will be instrumental in setting up the new line station. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager, based at Lands End Airport.

The B1 LAE will be providing engineering coverage for our fleet of DHC6-300 Twin Otter aircraft, to maintain the overall performance of the aircraft maintenance operation and its personnel.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• To be responsible for the maintenance of aircraft, and aircraft equipment as allocated to their control. This includes all line maintenance, and daily operational requirements of the aircraft.
• Certification of B1 maintenance activities performed during shift operations.
• The ground movements of aircraft.
• To ensure the correct and timely completion of all aircraft documentation relating to the maintenance activities performed.
• Ensure areas under supervision are always kept clean and tidy.
• Evaluate all existing standards, practices, and procedures with a view to continuous improvement and efficiency

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

• Previous experience within an aircraft maintenance department. Further Applicable Aircraft Maintenance Experience, Base/Workshops are desirable.
• Unrestricted UK Part 66 B1 Licence
• De Havilland DHC6-300 Type Rating is desirable. Type rating may be provided.
• Previous experience with ATR 72 is also desirable.
• Proven track record, as a LAE Level within an aircraft maintenance environment is essential.
